Conflict Resolution and De-escalation

This course covers the theoretical aspects of conflict resolution and de-escalation in the workplace. It equips learners to understand common causes and the different stages of conflict, the legal use of force in the workplace and the importance of accurate reporting. Learners are given the skills required to de-escalate situations using appropriate communication skills.

Personal safety and Breakaway
 

This course covers the theoretical aspects of conflict resolution and de-escalation in the workplace. It also covers the practical element of personal safety. Learners are taught the skills required to breakaway safely from potentially dangerous situations in the workplace.

Safe Holding and Team Skills Physical Intervention - PMVA/TMVA/MVA

This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to safely hold individuals to maintain safety of everyone. The theoretical and practical aspects of this course promotes the reducing restraint and reducing restrictive practices agenda set by national guidelines. 

PMVA/TMVA/MVA Refresher

This course is a yearly refresher. PMVA/TMVA/MVA (full or refresher course) must have been successfully completed within the last 12 months to be eligible to attend the refresher. 

Breakaway Train the Trainer

This course covers the breakaway skills core curriculum set by the General Services Association (GSA) as well as the theoretical core curriculum.

Upon successful completion of this course, newly qualified tutors will be able to teach conflict resolution, de-escalation, personal safety and breakaway skills.

Newly qualified tutors will become registered members of the GSA. This course is recognised, regulated and validated by the GSA.

PMVA Train the Trainer

 

This course covers the breakaway and physical intervention skills core curriculum set by the General Services Association (GSA) as well as the theoretical core curriculum.

Upon successful completion of this course, newly qualified tutors will be able to teach conflict resolution, de-escalation, personal safety, breakaway skills and physical intervention skills.

Newly qualified tutors will become registered members of the GSA. This course is recognised, regulated and validated by the GSA.

GSA Tutor Re-qualification



This course is for registered and qualified General Services Association (GSA) tutors who are required to attend a requalification to maintain their tutor status.

Upon successful requalification, GSA tutors will be able to continue teaching and renew their GSA tutor status.

This course is recognised, regulated and validated by the GSA.

First Aid for Mental Health Awareness

Level 1 - 1/2 day

 This 1/2 day course is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost the person towards professional help.

First Aid for Mental Health

Level 2 - 1 day

This 1 day course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

Supervising First Aid for Mental Health

Level 3 - 2 days

This 2 day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the contents of both Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications but is aimed at trainers/assessors and supervisor level within the workplace.

First Aid for Mental Health

Emergency First Aid at Work

Level 3 - 1 day

Where an organisation's risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for EFAW practitioners, then this national Award in EFAW satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid - the Health and Safety Executive.
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider's that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

First Aid at Work

Level 3 - 3 days

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then the L3 qualification will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.
This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 - 2 days

This qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies on a professional level such as teachers, child minders, creche assistants and playgroup personnel.
This qualification complies with the requirements of OFSTED and Early Years Foundation Stage 

Basic Life Support and Defibrillation

Level 2 - 1/2 day

This very practical course will enable you to use an AED competently and with confidence. It also includes training in basic life support including resuscitation.
Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. This course teaches skills that could be used any time and any where to save a life.

First Aid

Safeguarding Awareness

Level 1 - 1/2 day

This qualification is suitable for all persons and will provide an understanding of safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a safeguarding concern, listen and appropriately record a disclosure, and report to the appropriate person.

Safeguarding Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults

Level 3 - 1 day

This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.

Medication Awareness

Level 2 - 1/2 day

This course is for staff who work in health and social care with a responsibility to administer medication. This course covers legislation, safe administration of medicines, documentation, storage, disposal, errors, reporting and drug calculations.
